We’re Asking for Your Help! | Say No to the Proposed CMS Physician Fee Schedule
We'd like to bring awareness to an advocacy issue regarding what we believe are problematic changes in the proposed CY2027 Medicare Physician Fee Schedule, specifically the changes to reimbursements for Modifier 25. The proposed reduction in payment reimbursement for same-day evaluation and management services within a single office visit would be detrimental to dermatology providers, the practices they work for, and most importantly, will lead to delays in proper patient care. For this reason, we are sharing the SDPA's request for individuals and derm communities to offer their support.
The easiest way to assist in this cause is to fill out both of the following grassroots advocacy letters, one directed to CMS and one to members of Congress. We also ask that you share this information with fellow colleagues to spread the message as far as possible. SDPA will have content coming out on their Instagram page that you can repost and share with your networks. Also, here is a short article outlining the American Medical Association's stance on the issue.
Very Important: Any healthcare stakeholders must submit formal public comments to the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services before the deadline on September 14th, 2026.
